Effective October 8, 2026
Contents
The short version
- Fastener's business is introductions between companies in digital media. That work runs on business contact information: names, titles, employers, work emails, and professional relationships.
- We collect it from you, from our Clients and network, from data providers, and from public sources.
- AI agents do part of the work: research, matching, drafting and sending email, scheduling, and call notes. People on our team supervise them.
- When we introduce you to another company, we share your professional details with that company.
- Our website uses analytics and visitor identification tools that can recognize the company, and in some cases the person, visiting.
- We do not sell personal information for money. To see, correct, or delete your information, or to stop hearing from us, email hello@fastener.io.
1. Who we are and what this covers
Fastener.io LLC ("Fastener", "we", "us") is a lead development partner for digital media, based at 2460 17th Avenue, Suite 1117, Santa Cruz, CA 95062. This Privacy Policy covers www.fastener.io, LINK by Fastener at link.fastener.io ("LINK"), our emails, calls, forms, and events, and the introductions and market intelligence we provide (together, the "Services").
Fastener works with business professionals in their professional roles. Most of the personal information we hold is business contact and career information.
In this policy, "Clients" are the companies we represent, and "Buyers" are the publishers, marketers, agencies, technology companies, investors, and acquirers we introduce them to. Clients publish their own profiles and materials on LINK and are responsible for the personal information they include in them.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form. Your name, company, email, the kind of company you work for, and your message.
- Client onboarding. Details about your company, product, target customers, and team, submitted through forms hosted by a third-party form provider.
- LINK account. Your name, work email, title, company, and photo, plus sign-in details handled by our authentication provider.
- LINK activity. Profiles and drafts, materials, requests for introductions, information, and access, NDAs and signed copies, collections, and sender and signature settings.
- Conversations. What you tell us by email, by phone, in meetings, and at events, including recordings and transcripts of calls where a notetaker is present.
- Events. Registration details you provide through our event registration platform.
- Billing. For Clients: billing contacts, invoices, and payment status. Card and bank details are handled by payment providers.
Information we collect automatically
- Website usage. IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps, collected through server logs and Google Analytics.
- Visitor identification. Visitor identification tools compare your IP address and browser identifiers with business databases. They can tell us which company is visiting and, in some cases, which person: name, title, employer, LinkedIn profile, and business email. An advertising tag from a professional social network reports on visits by its members and supports our advertising there.
- LINK usage. Pages and profiles viewed, searches, requests, and downloads, along with error and diagnostic data.
- Email engagement. Whether you opened a message we sent or clicked a link in it.
- Embedded content. Event listings, forms, and fonts load from the companies that host them, which receive your IP address when they load.
Information from other sources
- Our Clients. Lists of companies and people they want to meet or avoid, notes on existing relationships, and feedback after meetings.
- Our network. Fastener's team and members of The Connective, our curated network of industry professionals, tell us who they know and who they can introduce. We keep a map of these professional relationships.
- Data providers. Business contact databases supply names, titles, employers, work emails, phone numbers, LinkedIn profile links, and company details.
- Public sources. Company websites, press coverage, professional profiles, conference agendas, and industry publications.
- The other side of an introduction. A person or company that asks to meet you tells us why.
- Calendars and meeting tools. Attendee names and email addresses on meeting invitations.
We do not ask for sensitive personal information such as government identifiers, health information, or financial account numbers. Please leave it out of anything you send us.
3. How we use information
- Run the Services. Accounts, profiles, requests, approvals, NDAs, and events.
- Make introductions. Work out who is relevant to whom, qualify both sides, and contact you about opportunities that fit your role.
- Schedule and hold meetings and keep notes on them.
- Produce market intelligence for Clients: needs, feedback, market activity, timing signals, and aggregated views of the market.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and LINK.
- Market Fastener. Send updates and event invitations, advertise, and follow up with companies that visit our website.
- Run our business. Bill Clients, keep records, meet legal obligations, and enforce our terms.
4. AI agents and automated processing
AI agents do part of Fastener's work. They are software that Fastener operates, built on large language models from third-party AI providers. Some have their own names and email addresses.
What agents do with personal information
- Research. Gather and summarize information about companies and people from the sources described above.
- Matching. Assess which Buyers and Clients are relevant to each other, and generate recommendations in LINK.
- Outreach and introductions. Draft and send emails, and read the replies sent to them so they can respond, book a time, or hand off to a person.
- Scheduling. Propose times and send calendar invitations.
- Call notes. Record, transcribe, and summarize calls, then extract structured notes such as commitments, feedback, new contacts, and target criteria into our CRM and internal channels.
- Lists and content. Build prospect lists for Clients and draft LINK profile content.
Oversight
Fastener's team sets what each agent may do, reviews its work, and can step in at any point. A person is involved in any decision about you that has legal or similarly significant effects.
AI providers process personal information on our behalf as service providers.
Your choices
- Ask for a person at any time by replying to the agent or emailing hello@fastener.io.
- Tell us you prefer no recording, and we will turn the notetaker off.
- Tell us if something an agent said or recorded about you is wrong, and we will correct it.
- Opt out of outreach entirely, as described in Your choices and rights.
5. How we share information
- With the other side of an introduction. Your name, title, employer, work email, relevant professional background, and the reason for the introduction. On LINK, a Client sees your name, title, and company when you request an introduction, more information, or access. LINK profiles show a primary contact's name, title, and photo. Contact email addresses stay private until an introduction is made.
- With Clients, as intelligence. When you speak with us about a Client or its offering, we pass your feedback and your level of interest to that Client. This can identify you and your company. We also give Clients signals about market needs and timing.
- With The Connective. Members who help with an introduction receive the details needed to make it.
- With service providers. Companies that provide hosting, sign-in, email delivery, forms, event registration, scheduling, CRM, team messaging, call recording and transcription, AI models, payments, and professional advice. They act on our instructions.
- With analytics, advertising, and data partners. Analytics providers, advertising platforms, visitor identification providers, and business contact databases. For some of what they collect, these companies act under their own privacy policies.
- For legal and safety reasons. To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, property, and safety of Fastener and others.
- In a business transfer. As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
- At your direction. Whenever you ask us to share something.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some of the analytics, advertising, and visitor identification tools described in this policy involve disclosures that certain laws treat as a "sale" or as "sharing" for targeted advertising. The next section explains how to opt out.
6. Cookies, analytics, and visitor identification
www.fastener.io and LINK use cookies, pixels, scripts, and similar technologies. This table lists the kinds of tools we use and the choice you have for each.
| Tool | What it does | Your choice |
|---|---|---|
| Website analytics | Google Analytics measures visits to www.fastener.io. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. | Google Analytics opt-out add-on |
| Advertising measurement | A tag from a professional social network reports on visits by its members and supports our advertising there. | The ad settings in your account on that network, and your browser's tracking controls |
| Company and visitor identification | Compares your IP address and browser identifiers with business databases to tell us which company is visiting and, in some cases, which person. | Email hello@fastener.io and we will delete the record and stop contacting you |
| LINK sign-in | Keeps you signed in to LINK through our authentication provider. | Required for LINK to work |
| LINK analytics and error monitoring | Shows us how LINK is used and where it fails. | Email hello@fastener.io |
| Embedded content | Event listings, onboarding forms, and typefaces load from the companies that host them. | Your browser's content controls |
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and blocking scripts from the providers above stops their collection. Our website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
You can also email hello@fastener.io and ask us to delete any record created by visitor identification and to stop contacting you.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy.
- Business contact and relationship information is kept while it stays relevant to our network and our Clients' markets, or until you ask us to delete it.
- LINK accounts and profiles are kept for the life of the account and for a reasonable period afterwards for records and backups.
- Call recordings, transcripts, and notes are kept while they support an active engagement or relationship, and afterwards as business records.
- Website and LINK analytics are kept for the periods set in each analytics tool.
- Contracts, invoices, and NDAs are kept for the periods the law requires and for resolving disputes.
When you ask us to delete your information or to stop contacting you, we keep a minimal record of your request so that we do not contact you again or add you back from another source.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
These choices are open to everyone, wherever you live.
- See, correct, or delete your information. Email hello@fastener.io from the address we have for you. You can ask what we hold about you and which companies have received it. We may ask for details to confirm your identity. We aim to respond within 30 days.
- Stop outreach. Reply to any message, use the unsubscribe link, or email us. We will stop contacting you about opportunities and updates.
- Manage your LINK account. Edit your account and profile in LINK, or email us to close your account.
- Decline recording and ask for a person. See AI agents and automated processing.
- Opt out of analytics, advertising, and visitor identification. See Cookies, analytics, and visitor identification.
Making a request never affects how we treat you. Someone you authorize may make a request for you, and we will confirm their authority with you.
10. California privacy rights
California law gives residents specific rights over their personal information. Fastener honors these requests from California residents:
- Know. Ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it, and who receives it.
- Delete and correct. Ask us to delete or correct your personal information.
- Opt out of sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising and visitor identification tools on www.fastener.io may count as a "sale" or as "sharing" under California law. To opt out, use the choices in Cookies, analytics, and visitor identification or email hello@fastener.io.
- Sensitive personal information. We use sensitive personal information, such as LINK sign-in credentials, only to provide the Services.
- Equal treatment. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.

- Audio and visual information: call recordings and profile photos.
- Inferences: our assessment of your likely interest in an offering.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
11. Europe, the UK, and international transfers
Fastener is based in the United States. We process personal information in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Fastener.io LLC is the controller of your personal information. Our legal bases are:
