ZEFR’s $30m raise earlier this week seemed to shed a positive light on YouTube Multi Channel Networks (MCNs), but closing out the week (and month) now with Machinima’s $10m round seems to paint a darker picture for the category.  To be fair, these two companies characterize themselves as having very different business models, but there certainly has been chatter about the viability of MCNs in general.  It will be interesting to watch if technology/rights or production/representation (or some other model) will be the right MCN play to pick.
