Doesn’t surprise me… was initially intrigued when Spotify opened up for 3rd-party developers a few years back, and while I’ve installed and used a few of those apps, I’ve not been an active user.  I am, however, active using both the Spotify desktop client and the Spotify mobile app.  Further, I am active using Spotify via the Sonos app. Appears the latter – extending Spotify via API access – will be the focus moving forward.  Sounds right. https://gigaom.com/2014/11/03/spotify-kills-its-app-platform-three-years-after-its-launch/
