Branded entertainment video seems to be resonating with me lately. Not sure if accurate, but I feel like Dollar Shave Club and Old Spice invented the medium. Regardless, everyone’s doing it from airlines to soft drinks.
Take this video for example. It made me smile and share and want a Coke (ice cold, small-bottled, Mexican Coke to be exact). That’s because it’s fun and relates to practically everyone and has for years by now. Heck, I can remember an unsettling moment when my middle-child innocently and proudly showed me her first Crayon family portrait – includes her (obviously), mom, two sisters, dog, and me (staring down at my Blackberry*). Sigh. Where’s that ice cold Coke.
* Yes, it was quite a few years ago.
